Question:
What du’as can I read that ward off evil eye and from people causing me harm?
Assalamu Alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh
Thank you for your question.
Some recommended supplications and recitations are below:
أَعُوذُ بِكَلِمَاتِ اللهِ التَّامَّاتِ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ
A’udhu bi kalimatillaahi at-tamaati min sharri ma khalaq
(I seek refuge in the complete words of Allāh from the evil in what He has created.)
This is mentioned in a few Hadiths and also in Hisn-al-Muslim.
(O Allah, We position You in their chests, and we seek refuge in You from any harm that may come to us from their side.)
This is from the following Hadith:
Narrated Abu Musa al-Ash’ari:
When the Prophet (ﷺ) feared a (group of) people, he would say: “O Allah, we make Thee our shield against them, and take refuge in Thee from their evils.”
(Sunan Abi Dawud 1537, Book 8, Hadith 122)
حَسْبُنَا ٱللَّهُ وَنِعْمَ ٱلْوَكِيلُ
Hasbiya Allah wa ni’ma al-wakil
(Allah is sufficient for me; He is the One who is the best to place one’s trust in)
This is from Surah Al-Imran and also mentioned in a Hadith from Riyadh-as-Saliheen as follows:
Abu Sa’id Al-Khudri (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:
Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, “How can I feel at ease when the Angel of the Trumpet, (Israfil) has put his lips to the Trumpet and is waiting for the order to blow it”. He (ﷺ) perceived as if this had shocked his Companions, so he (ﷺ) told them to seek comfort through reciting: ‘Hasbunallah wa ni’mal-Wakil [Allah (Alone) is Sufficient for us, and He is the Best Disposer of affairs (for us)]”.
(Riyad as-Salihin 409)
And Allah knows best.
