THE STORY

The story of Hadith of the Day (HOTD) began in 2009 with the simplest of visions: How to make Muslims connect and fall in love with their faith using the latest technology available which they use on a daily basis.The aim was to showcase and promote the beauty of Islam to a truly universal audienceFor people to be inspired by sacred text and by real life experiences of people whose lives were changed forever due to the sheer inspiration our beautiful faith offers. We wanted to make inspiration the footprint for our vision, and so the HOTD journey started, like many other success stories with humble beginnings. We started with one person, a piece of blank paper and a simple idea of the time was 1st July 2009.

INSPIRING MILLIONS

Our mission statement is to inspire. We inspire our members with daily drops of inspirational and educational knowledge. We have been endorsed by some of the world’s leading scholars such as Mufti Ismail Menk, Ustadh Nouman Ali Khan, Shaykh Yusuf Badat, Shaykj Omar Sulemain, Yasmin Mogahed and many more.When we first started we had 100 members on our Facebook Page. Within 6 months we had 500,000 and in less than a year we had 1 million members. We’re now at over 15 million and growing Alhamdulillah.

CONNECTING OUR GLOBAL UMMAH

The strength of social media is that it connects millions of Muslims from different parts of the world together. With the generosity of one of our members, HOTD sent 10 members on an all expenses paid trip to Makkah and Madinah. Only low-income families were permitted to enter and when we made the phone calls to the winners, every single person broke down in tears. Some of the people who won could not afford applying for a passport so our donor also covered those costs.

“My mother and I are both Australian reverts and had never been to Makkah. HOTD paid and arranged our trip to Makkah and Madinah and I was so happy. As a revert to Islam I was going through a lot of difficult times and needed an Iman boost. When I discovered I was going on the trip I didn’t sleep all night and the 10 days I spent there were the best of my life. One of the duas I made when I saw Kaaba that I could find a nice Muslim man to marry and I asked Allah to let me marry one man I had in mind and when I returned home the same man proposed and we’ve now been married for 3 years 🙂 I love HOTD.”

“I will never forget the moment I told my old parents HOTD is paying for us to go to Umrah. My parents are over 70 and have never been and I will never forget the tears in their eyes when I told them the great news. We had always thought we would never go as we could not afford it so going was like a dream and spending 10 days in Makkah and Madinah the highlight of my life. I will never ever forget the happiness HOTD has given my parents”

MILLIONS OF LIVES AFFECTED

Another triumph we had was from last year. One of our HOTD members lost her father in Malaysia and we made a dua for him on HOTD. When we posted the message, the brother of the father who died recognized the name and the place and called the family. They had been estranged for over 30 years and had never spoken to each other. Their children had also never spoken. That one message on HOTD brought 2 families together after 30 years, which is another memory, we’ll cherish for as long as we work on HOTD.

Prior to accepting Islam I learnt about the Muslim faith in a variety of different ways. I was particularly impressed with the inspirational messages of HOTD and I absolutely loved how universal and peaceful they were. Just like Islam is supposed to be.
