Be not sad, surely Allah is with us

We all know the beautiful Ayah that was revealed in Surah At Tawbah

“Be not sad; surely Allah is with us.” (Quran 9:40)

Do you know when this Ayah is referring to.

Imagine the scene:

The Muslims were being persecuted in Makkah and many of them had been given permission to emigrate to Madinah. One incredibly hot afternoon, our Prophet (peace be upon him) finally received revelation from Allah that it was finally time to leave Makkah and migrate to Madinah. His companion was none other than the truly faithful Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with Him) and they set off on the long journey to Madinah. On the way they took refuge in a cave trying to escape the Quraysh.

In the cave, they hid and Abu Bakr feared, not for his life, but the life of his leader, the life of our Nabi. The Quraysh were so close… and then this verse was revealed later.

So beautiful…

You’ve just learnt something amazing about the Quran 🙂
