Question:
Can you please advise on a duʿa (supplication or prayer) to conceive a child and get pregnant. We as a married couple have been childless for many years and have prayed a lot, for Allah to bless us with a child.
Answer:
Jazak Allah Khayr/ Thank you for your question. May Allah bless you with pious children, happiness, prosperity and success.
The below mentioned supplications could be constantly recited for the purpose of having children. You are encouraged to offer salat al hajah (prayer for need) and make sincere duʿa in any language and words you deem appropriate.
رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ
“Our Lord, give us good in this world and good in the Hereafter, and save us from the punishment of Fire.” (2:201)
رَبِّ إِنِّي لِمَا أَنزَلْتَ إِلَيَّ مِنْ خَيْرٍ فَقِيرٌ
“My Lord, I am in need of whatever good you send down to me.” (28:24)
رَبَّنَا هَبْ لَنَا مِنْ أَزْوَاجِنَا وَذُرِّيَّاتِنَا قُرَّةَ أَعْيُنٍ وَاجْعَلْنَا لِلْمُتَّقِينَ إِمَامًا
“Our Lord, Give us, from our spouses and our children, comfort of eyes, and make us heads of the God-fearing.” (25:74)
رَبِّ هَبْ لِي مِنَ الصَّالِحِينَ
“O my Lord, bless me with a righteous son.” (37:100)
رَبِّ لَا تَذَرْنِي فَرْدًا وَأَنتَ خَيْرُ الْوَارِثِينَ
“My Lord, do not leave me alone and You are the best of inheritors.” (21:89)
رَبِّ هَبْ لِي مِن لَّدُنكَ ذُرِّيَّةً طَيِّبَةً ۖ إِنَّكَ سَمِيعُ الدُّعَاءِ
“O my Lord, grant me from Your own (power) a goodly progeny. Verily, You are the One who listens to the prayer.” (3:38)
