When do we need Allah the absolute most?

When do we need Allah and how much?

Assalam u alaikum wa rahmatullah. So we all remember Allah swt in our daily lives, Alhamdulillah. We ask Him for good health, for more faith, for prosperity, for admissions in Universities, for promotions, for children. We remember Him in our daily prayers and seek His blessings. But are these the only things when we should call onto him? Certainly not.

Most of us forget to or rather choose not invoke Allah SWT for small things because we feel that that these matters could be solved without disturbing Allah. Well the truth is that we need Him for every single thing we do consciously or unconsciously, from taking a breath to lifting a pen to drinking water. Everything. Then why do we not remember Him in these affairs and praise Him for these gifts.

The truth is that we have considered these affairs to be so trivial that we feel that these will just happen. It will work out by itself and hence we pay least heed to them. But take a moment and think; think if all the things around you could be possible without the permission of Allah. Think that do we need Allah only when we feel we need him. If so then we are just being selfish and ungrateful. We need His majesty and mercy all the time whether we feel like it or not.

Then there are some of us who believe that Allah should not be ‘disturbed’ for such trivial things. The answer to that is that things are only trivial or great for us. But for Allah everything is equally trivial. His power is so great that everything that we feel is difficult is nothing for Him, Subhan Allah. Creating the entire universe all over again is as simple for Allah as putting a dot on a paper and even lesser, Allah u Akbar. So what is easy or difficult for us is not the same of Allah. It is all equal for His majestic power. After all his is Al-Muqtadir, the powerful, the dominant, the one with the perfect power that nothing is withheld from Him .

It is also found in a hadith that `A’ishah (ra) narrated that: the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to remember Allah in all of his affairs. When a personality like Rasool Allah SAW was so humble, then who are we to remember Him only for things we consider to be tough?

So let’s not forget to remember and praise and thank Allah equally for everything we need or do. This will help us attain greater levels of Taqwa.
